Airman Clock: A legend goes digital
For friends of mechanical watches, Glycine‘s Airman 17 is now interpreted for
the iPhone.
Like the mechanical original, it features the indication of hours, minutes, seconds, date and a 2nd time zone. Through the display backside of the watch one can see the wonderfully refined movement. The backside of the iPhone-Airman shows an exact and working image of the winding oscillating weight. Of course, it does not have a winding function, but the watch aficionado will be enthusiastic about this view and the toy factor is just amazing.
The second time zone can be easily set with a slider. The "prevent auto-lock"-feature allows to use the Airman Clock as the perfect desktop clock when your iPhone is placed in the dock.
Swiss watch manufacturer Glycine Watch is renowned for sturdy high-quality pilot and diving watches and chronographs. The first line of the now legendary Airman watches, was presented in 1953 and had true pioneer position at that time; they still have it today.
The smart application which runs on the iPhone® and on the iPod touch® was developed for Glycine by à la crème in Berne, Switzerland, in close cooperation with Uhrsachen, known as one of the most innovative watch stores in Europe. The app may be downloaded for free in Apple's "AppStore", accessible with any iTunes account.
